Wishlist o meglio: l’inizio della settimana

Apre al pubblico il 1 aprile 2008, nelle sale espositive di palazzo Poli a Fontana di Trevi una mostra di disegni, per la maggior parte cinquecenteschi, raccolti da padre Sebastiano Resta, figura chiave del collezionismo e del mercato del disegno tra la fine del '600 e l'inizio del '700, raccolti nel volume denominato Libro d’Arabeschi, conservato nella Biblioteca Comunale di Palermo.

Listening to the tapes of this live concert from Culturen Västerås, persuaded me that certain attributes of the playing of Mats Gustafsson and Raymond Strid are indeed bound with “Terroir”. There is probably a useful Swedish word describing this, but the French word nevertheless seems appropriate in describing a sense of place, something earthy and powerful.

My thoughts moved to volcanoes and in particular glaciers, which of course abound in Sweden. The explosive power of the volcano leaving behind often exquisite settlements of minerals and crystals and the inexorable slide of the glacier, sometimes tearing, other times honing, but always moving in a solid mass onwards, expresses my feelings for these musicians way of playing. But there is lightness within this weight and solidity, which in a way reflects the transparent and crystalline structures that we witness in these two earthly formations of volcano and glacier.
Hot and cold.

The music on this album wells up from the joy of working together, with our singular energies coalescing to reflect the heat of engagement and the coolness of the open space around us.

Tra le opere minori attribuite ad Aristotele, i due scritti De coloribus e De audibilibus si pongono a metà tra le opere propriamente filosofiche (di psicologia e di teoria della sensazione e della conoscenza) e quelle propriamente scientifiche, dato che rappresentano il primo abbozzo di un’“ottica” e di un’“acustica” elaborate nell’antichità classica. La scelta di presentarli qui insieme non è casuale, considerando l’attenzione più consapevole e l’analisi più approfondita nei diversi campi delle scienze, della letteratura e delle arti verso sperimentazioni, esperienze e processi sinestetici e multisensoriali. Il testo greco dei Colori è quello edito da M.F. Ferrini, Pisa 1999, mentre il testo greco dei Suoni è riprodotto secondo l’edizione classica di I. Bekker, Berolini 1831 (tranne in alcuni punti in cui la curatrice se ne discosta). Maria Fernanda Ferrini è docente di Letteratura greca presso l’Università di Macerata. Per Bompiani ha curato la traduzione integrale di altre opere di Aristotele in questa stessa collana: Problemi (2002) e Fisiognomica (2007).
